Restaurants

Other folks suggest places downtown like The Pomp Room or Jamz (nightclubs for those 20-40), Skelly's (an Irish saloon with good food), or the Sioux Falls Brewing Company brewpub (431 North Phillips Ave., 605.332.4847).

Sites & Attractions

There are not many big tourist attractions in Sioux Falls. If you're traveling with kids a water slide complex with miniature golf and similar fare are around for the kids. Much of my '94 trip was at the movie theater while replacing an alternator.

Suggestions from the locals include:

For those (like Minnesotans) who don't have legalized gambling, the presence of "casinos" in nearly every bar should be an indicator of why you may (or may not) want this freedom.

Lodging

Not a problem

There are several motels within (big city) blocks from the park. Visiting teams stay at the Comfort Inn (605.331.4490, 5100 North Cliff Ave.) also nearby is the Empire Inn (605.361.2345, 4208 West 41st St.). Also along Russell St. are several standard motels (like Super-8, Exel Inn, Ramada and Kelly Inn). Within a few miles is the rest of the standard fare.

My choice was the Rodeway (formerly Travelodge, last Hospitality Inn) but it "burned down." The "remnants" of it are still just south of Buffalo Wild Wings (BW3).
