Where is it on the map?
Main Entrance to Newman Outdoor Field
If you have a recent map you may be able to find. It opened during the '96 season so anything printed before then probably doesn't have it shown. Look for the NDSU Fargodome that is more likely to be on your map.
What landmarks should I look for?
The Fargodome (Not very round for a dome; carnival was just visiting)
What you'll see on the map, from the interstate, and the baseball stadium itself is Fargodome (see above). Not so much a "dome" as an very, very large arena this is definitely the landmark. It is north east of the ballpark and commands the (otherwise flat) surroundings on the North Dakota State University (NDSU) campus. A new running track was built to the west just as they completed the Nest.
What you should bring with you?
Located on the northern prairies, the Nest is usually warm on a summer night. A light jacket, or sweatshirt might be advisable.
Day games are very warm and sunscreen recommended except for those in the skyboxes or upper rows on the first base side.
There is usually enough concourse area for shelter from passing showers, so an umbrella is not necessary. During my first visit I took shelter with the rest of the fans there with little problem during a thunderstorm.
